16 Sep 10 Beautiful Shots From the First Day of Oasis Festival 2017
After Solomun unofficially kicked off Oasis 2017 with a staggering eight-hour set at the Thursday pre-party, the festival was underway and we were welcoming another beautiful crowd of house and techno heads to The Source in Marrakech.
Rising Australian selector and Phonox resident HAAI did a sterling job of opening up the festival, with Young Marco taking over and bringing an artful mix of heady, champagne disco vibes, funky house and scatty breaks. Boiler Room player Thris Thian kicked things off at the Arena, before Willow brought the cauldron to a boil with her soulful, vocal-led house.
There was no doubt that KiNK was one of the most hyped acts at the festival, and the two-time winner of RA’s best live act delivered a truly memorable three-hour set packed out with soulful tech, edgy house and plenty of rewinds. At the Arena, Harvey Sutherland, Kornél Kovács and Dolan Bergin b2b Move D took us deep with some no-nonsense lo-fi house, while the main stage descended into dark, heavy techno with Richie Hawtin, Marcel Dettmann and Karenn. Over at the Arena, Glenn Underground closed things out and kicked off a weekend that will heavily rep Motor City crew.
We can’t wait to see you back at The Source again today for Daniel Avery, Charlotte de Witte, DJ Stingray, and the mighty Maceo Plex.
