“Being a frequent traveller, I’ve had the chance to visit numerous cafes and restaurants around the world. Although, none of them had given me the feeling that Café des Epices in Marrakech gave me. A strange and unique feeling of both excitement and calmness surrounding the Inside and the Outside of this unique space. Located at the heart of the ancient Medina, it offers you the privilege to relax in its well decorated terrasse that looks over the famous cultural playground “Djemaa El Fna” to enjoy its vast choices of delicious gourmet tea recipes. This is the perfect place to watch a beautiful Sunset while having an outstanding view over the oldest part of the iconic city of Marrakech.”

“Best place to enjoy real Moroccan tea after a long walk in “Jemaa el Fna”. The owner loves underground music and will be so happy to share some good plans with you.”

In the medina’s “spice square,” this little café has set a trend in recent years, and copycat cafés have sprung up with woven stools and low wooden tables. The original teeters over three levels and has a great rooftop view over the veiled women selling basket ware and woolly hats below. Suitably enough, it offers spiced tea and cinnamon coffee along with a good complement of juices and light snacks. The same owner also runs , a small restaurant tucked into a courtyard in the north of the souks. (via Fodor’s Travels)
