Charlotte De Witte

“Dark music contains so much more emotion. When I’m DJing I want to try and touch the crowd and tell a story with the music,” – Charlotte de Witte

Young Belgian upstart Charlotte de Witte is one of Europe’s fastest rising techno acts. At just 24-years-old, de Witte does not treat the decks with kid gloves, instead dropping churning dungeon techno that’s dripping with ominous vibes and brash attitude.

After settling behind the decks for the first time at the tender age of 17, de Witte quickly went on to bring her uncompromising, brooding brand of techno to major Belgian festivals Pukkelpop, I Love Techno, Dour and Tomorrowland.

Recent releases on Turbo, Suara, and OFF Recordings suggest that de Witte is capable of bashing it up with the big boys, and fittingly, her trajectory has seen her stack big performances in the US, Spain and at ADE in the last year—but a glance at her calendar shows that she’s still very committed to repping underground sounds in her home nation.
