The New York-based Chilean electronic music producer, mixing engineer and DJ has long been one of the most highly regarded artists in the scene, and is a frequent headliner and performer at some of the most interesting and progressive festivals in the world.
Jaar spent his teenage years in NYC Dance music circles, contributing dance records to Wolf+Lamb from 2007 to 2010, and in 2012, he debuted a live concept called From Scratch at MOMA PS1 in Queens, NY. It was a five hour, chance-based concert where Jaar sampled records he had never heard. Later that year he made his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix’ debut, with two hours of genre-defying music that completely departed from the dancefloor-focused sounds typically showcased on Pete Tong’s show. That inspired session was voted the mix of the year by the BBC Radio 1 listeners.
Away from the club and festival scene, Jaar scored the Palme d’Or winning film Dheepan, launched a record label called Other People, and released his critically acclaimed sophomore album Sirens.
