Volunteer at Oasis in exchange for your ticket to the festival!
Joining our team as a volunteer is an opportunity to get some great hands on experience in the festival and music industry, and have a fantastic time immersing yourself in Moroccan culture!
Desirable candidates are 100% committed, clear and consistent communicators, and have a positive attitude. You will be exercising your hands and your critical thinking skills working in various departments during the event including site operations, hospitality, box office, and decor.
Volunteer Program Overview
All volunteers must arrive on-site by Thursday, 14 September at noon for orientation and training.
Volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 3 x 8 hour shifts or a total of 24 hours across the festival (Fri-Sun). This will be in addition to training and induction on-site.
In exchange, volunteers will receive a free ticket for Oasis Festival 2017, a Volunteer T-Shirt and on-site meal credits for shifts you work.
Volunteering at Oasis Festival is unpaid, and no expenses will be met or reimbursed. Volunteers are responsible for their own hotel and travel arrangements to and from Marrakech.
Advanced Volunteer Program
Our advanced program is for people who are looking for a more immersive experience at Oasis. These positions require more commitment than our volunteer program, but comes with added benefits. We will accept up to 10 candidates to join our team in this capacity.
In addition to everything outlined above…
You are required to arrive on-site by Wednesday, 13 September at noon and available to work through Monday, 18 September.
Oasis will provide a shared room at a nearby hotel from Wednesday, 13 September to Tuesday, 19 September.
You can choose one piece of merch (t-shirt, tank top, or hat) after the festival is over to take home as a souvenir. Depending on your position during the festival, you may or may not receive a staff t-shirt.
Assist our Artist Liaison team with various duties that tend to our artists’ needs. This position can get very busy at times and is not for the star-struck. Applicants with experience working as an Artist Liaison will get priority placement.
Our bartenders are in the thick of the action. Do you have at least one year bar tending experience? Are you fluent in English? Then sign up to work on the bars. Watch your favorite acts as your volunteer, taking drinks order over the backstage bars or artist villa. Volunteers for this role must be quick, friendly and enjoy customer facing roles.
Box Office / Accreditation
These positions involve operating our wristband top-up stations or working at the Box Office, where we sell and exchange tickets for festival wristbands, check and hand out press credentials, and manage guest lists. These are important positions that require friendly, honest applicants that can interact well with people on a number of levels.
Help with decorating the festival site, as well as making and hanging signs and structures. Please be advised that you might be working with paint, spray-paint and glue that can give off hazardous fumes and strong odours.
Volunteers in this position make sure that our attendees know where they’re going, how to get around, and are able to answer questions and help where necessary. We are looking for people that are friendly, helpful and ready to adapt to any situation as it arises.
In this position, you would help us take care of festival and artist merchandise sales. We’re looking for friendly, helpful and outgoing people that enjoy interacting with people.
Production / Operations
Production assistants help our production team with any tasks that arise. This position has a broad range of tasks ranging from runner duties to assisting stage managers and assisting event control. Volunteers for this crew must be friendly, helpful and be ready to adapt to any situation as it arises.
In this position, you’d take care of building installations and structures on the festival site. Please be advised that this role can be physically demanding and may require heavy lifting and manual labour, and therefore important that you’re in good physical shape.
The deadline to apply is July 1st 2017.
Once accepted, volunteers will be required to buy a volunteer deposit ticket. The ticket is refunded after you have successfully completed your allocated shifts. You will receive a link to the volunteer deposit ticket if accepted into the program, and will need to send the confirmation from the ticketing agent to finalize your sign-up.
Foreign applicants must provide us with a confirmation of flight details to finalize their application.
